Happy to have Family over for Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was especially special because we had family in town.

We decided to have a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner.  James' mom made, clam chowder, rolls, her famous stuffing and pies.  James cooked a delicious ham and sauteed some yummy veggies.  the meal was amazing but the company was even better.  Here are a few pictures of our gathering.

A Hair cut for Gwenevere

Gwenevere wanted a hair cut for about 2 months now,  at first I wanted to wait till we could pay someone to cut her hair.  Gwenevere's hair wasn't very long to begin with so if we where going to cut it shorter I wanted it to look nice.  But on Monday I gave up, I was tired of seeing Gwenevere sucking her hair.  Grace was taking a nap and I decided, why not.  I called up James just to make sure he was okay with the idea and of course he was.  So I began to cut.  With each snip of the scissors Gwenevere said "Cut more, Mom".  I thought this was short enough and so I stopped, although if I listened to Gwenevere she probably would have ended up with a hair cut similar to Papa's.

If anyone is willing to touch up Gwenevere's hair please let me know.  I know it's not very even.

Ballerina

Gwenevere's first day of ballet class.
Here she is showing me her moves before class
kicks and spins that's all you need to know

Here is the pretty Ballerina with her Papa
James took her to ballet since I was busy that morning.

And this is "My little Ballerina"

Pictures just for fun

Grace helping Papa with his homework.

I was hoping to be Grace's favorite since Papa is already Gwenevere's, but it looks like they are both Daddy's girls

Grace testing out the jogging stroller.
She's so ready to go on jogs with her Papa but we say she has to be a few months older.

Papa is a joggle gym

coming this Summer

Last week we got a package in the mail from my Sister.  In the package was a beach ball, two compasses (one for Gwenevere and one for Grace) and a note that said "get ready for some summer fun, blow up the beach ball for more information".

Gwenevere got to work blowing up the ball.
And she did a pretty good job I only had to blow a few times while she caught her breath.

this is what the beach ball said
 This ball will self-destruct
in 7 seconds:
Date: July 2nd-6th
Where: Lake Powell
Get ready for fun!!!

Yep that's right.
The next Tall Moose Reunion is on it's way.
YIPPEE!

And yes the ball did self-destruct soon after it's arrival

We are so excited!

Growing Grace

Grace is 3 months old

  • Grace wears size 2 diapers, and size 3 month clothes
  • She can hold up her head
  • She likes to suck on her finger,
  • Grace enjoys sitting up with support
  • Grace just started reach for toys (her favorite toy is a red bird)
  • she likes to imitate sounds
  • Grace's sleep schedule has been consistent for a whole month now  (she sleeps from 11pm-7am, and take 3-4 naps in the day)
  • Grace only likes tummy time when Gwenevere does tummy time too.

On any given day I will hear people saying she looks like James and other people saying she looks like me.  We think she's a good blend of the both of us.  She's mellow and social, and a blessing to our home.

It feels like she's been apart of our family for forever

Phone call

James was watching Gwenevere for me while I ran a few errands on Friday.  After being gone for an hour or so I decided to call James and make sure he was okay.  He was going to try and study while watching Gwenevere. I wanted to make sure he had enough study time so I could do a few more errands.

When James answered the phone he said "You just gave away my hiding spot."

James was playing hide and go seek with Gwenevere when I called.  My heart melted.  James is an awesome Papa.  I have never thought of playing hide and seek with Gwenevere.  I guess that's way we all need Papas.
