Today was a good day

We slept in.
Ate chips for breakfast.
Said goodbye to Papa so  he could go Mt. Biking.
Decided we wanted to bike too.  Family bike ride up and down the street.  I even rode my bike.  Picked flowers.
Gathered eggs from the chicken coop.
fed and watered bunnies.
Packed a picnic lunch.  gathered up fun beach toys,
Went to the beach and played with friends.  went to the grocery store in swimsuits and bought popsicles.
Came home and unloaded sandy beach stuff.
Found my phone and read Texts from Papa.
Papa bought a new knife from REI.  It cost 4.00.  AWESOME
Played with neighborhood friends. Ate popsicles before dinner.
Practiced jump roping
Ate spaghetti at neighbors house.
cleaned bedrooms and started dishwasher.
Watched Shaun the Sheep.  Put kids to bed and waited to for Papa to come home.

Grace decided to give me some Marriage advice:  "If you are married and don't have kids talk to your husband.  If you aren't married talked to your friends".

I'm sure there is wisdom in her deep thoughts.

Easter weekend Part 2

Saturday morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and then went swimming.

I think Everett missed having Gwenevere around.  He kept reaching for her hand to hold.

Everyone enjoyed playing with Papa

Slight Digression:  A few weeks ago we went to Costco and Everett saw this robe for sale.  Everyone in our family has a robe except him.  With big eye he looks at me and says "Oh that robe for me, PLEASE?"  YEP.  we bought him his first robe and he loves it.
After swimming we checked out of the hotel and made our way to Grandma Wilcox's house for a potluck lunch and an Easter egg hunt.  Spending the weekend with family was perfect.  Dumpa Roemhildt stopped by and the girls went on a walk with him to the park.  I got to play some games which is always fun.  James enjoyed hanging out with his brothers and Grandma Sharolee and Grandpa Don stopped by later to visit.

Gwenevere was eager to help Everett on his Easter egg hunt.

Easter weekend: Tulip Fields

We've missed the tulip fields last year and so I tried hard to make it work this year.  Luckily the stars aligned and planning a trip to the tulip field turned out easier than I imagined.

Gwenevere was still visiting cousins in Portland so Friday morning James and I packed our bags and headed down to pick her up.  Grace and Everett played nicely in the car together and we found a independent donut store in Olympia that we decided to check out.  The donuts where good.

Soon we where at Red Grandma's.  Stephanie brought Gwenevere to us and we visited for a while before headed south to the tulip fields.  We went mid day which isn't the best light for photos but we had a blast.  We ended up playing and exploring for 2 hours.  We raced duckies, took a hay ride, petted a donkey, saved bees trapped in tulips jumped in mud puddles.  It was a perfect day.

Rebecca and Max where able to join us for a little bit near the end but my kids where getting hungry so we said goodbye to cousins and headed out to get some dinner.

I'll let the pictures tell the story.

I love this girl's smile.  She found hiking in a shoe to be Hilarious.

When your younger siblings won't pose you get all the glory.  My beautiful flower.

Duck races

the competition was high and Grace got some good jumps in with her pumping.

The man of my dreams.

Hayrides

James and I have a picture of us on one of these while we where dating.  We even got to see it in action.

Gwenevere found a cow to hug

the kids loved playing in the shoe wagons.

Waiting for Everett to get back from using the restroom

gotta love cousin time

We picked up some pizzas at Little Caesar and checked into our hotel room for the night.
We went down to the pool to play but was soon turned away since a person had just thrown up and the pool needed to be cleaned.

We went back to our room and watch some TV before falling asleep.
