Bones and more

Gwenevere realized she has bones in her body.  Tonight's bedtime converstation between Gwenevere and Papa went something like this.

Papa: Gwenevere do you want to lay your head on my shoulder?
Gwenevere: "Daddy you bones here?"pointing to his shoulder. "Daddy you have bones? bones in your hands? Bones in her back?  Bones in your Body?  Can I see them? trying to pull up his shirt to see them.

Today we went to the Northwest Trek with the Box family.  It was so awesome.  Gwenevere fell asleep on the drive to the Trek, when we parked and got out of the car Gwenevere was amazed at the forest around us.

G "What's this daddy?"  looking all around.
P  "It's the forest.  Do you like it?"
G "YEAH it's GOOD."

My little girl is growing up.  Lately she's been asking to do more things by herself.  The other day I helped her make chocolate milk "by herself".  I poured the milk and she helped me pour the chocolate syrup and than she mixed it up "All by herself."  My little girl is growing up.

Living for the weekends

We love life but there is nothing better then a family filled weekend.

On Friday night James got home early from work.  It was a pleasant surprise.  He took a nap with Gwenevere while I got ready for our DATE.  Oh how I love date nights.  Thank you Tanya for being willing to watch Gwenevere for us.  I took a shower, I got dressed up(meaning I got out of my PJs), put on makeup and even brushed my teeth.  I felt like a beautiful woman.  hehehehehe

For our date we went out to eat at Joeseppi's Italian Restaurant

YUMMY

Our host was a very cheerful older man.  He asked about the baby and suggested we name her Emily.  After we sat down at our seats and took a look at the menu
We realized our host was the owner.

 Pretty cool.
The food was delicous
I ended up eating what James ordered because it looked soooooo good.
Thankfully he didn't mind eating what I ordered either.
I love my husband.

After dinner we took a walk around the neighborhoods close to James' school.  His school is located in an older part of town and the houses there have so much character.  We had fun walking and talking and dreaming about the future.

After a good walk, James took me to Jo-Ann fabrics so I could pick up some ribbon for a baby blanket I want to make for the new baby.
I'm so excited about this project, I spent the entire morning Friday patching together the quilt part of the blanket.  On Monday I'll go back to Jo-ann fabrics to pick up some fabric for the back of the blanket and then sometime in June my dear friend Rachel is going to help me make the blanket.  I'm so excited.

But back to the date.

After JoAnn's we went back home and took pictures.

On Saturday, James went on a bike ride and Alisha, Gwenevere and I walked to the park.  I called my parents and had a good chat with them.  After an hour at the park, James came to pick us up and we went over to our friends house to help them move.  :(  We will miss you Day family.

By the time we got there they were mostly packed.  I was even sadder that we didn't get to help them that much.

But since they lived close to Jo-Ann fabrics guess where we went after leaving our friends house.  Yep.  Back to Jo-ann.  I had several coupons I wanted to use but each one started on a different day.  Go figures.  So while I was at Jo-Ann fabric buying another spoil of ribbon James and Gwenevere went to the Pet store.  Jo-Ann was also having a sale where all their simplic patterns were only a 1.00.  AWESOME!  When I checked out.  My total came to 5.98 and my total savings was $45.75.  And now I have some cute dress patterns for Gwenevere.  I'm so excited.

After jo-ann's we drove to James' school so we could print out directions to the Day's new home.  We wanted to help them unpack since we weren't much help in packing up.  But the school was closed and we couldn't find a library close by.  I guess that's why people have GPSs and Iphones and stuff.  Oh well.

We said sorry and than decided to go to the Zoo instead,  Gwenevere's suggestion.

Gwenevere loves the shirt that she is wearing in these pictures.  She put it on Friday Morning and I couldn't get her to take it off.  At bedtime, we put her pjs on and then she put her shirt on top, so on Saturday when it looked very very dirty, I figured it wouldn't hurt to let her wear it a few more hours.  Thanks Marly for sharing your cute clothes with Gwenevere.
Look at the walruses. I just love the sunglasses.

When looking at the Meerkats, Gwenevere told us "Look, they're Praying"
And of course we couldn't leave the zoo till we played at the playground.

 Gwenevere suggested Daddy play too.
What a good sport

Outside their shells

And a little bit of digging.

You would think by now we had enough fun for one weekend but oh no we party still more.

After the zoo we went to Kevin and Tanya's house for a BBQ and games.  It was so much fun.  Gwenevere had been talking about Aliya all day long.  She was so excited to go play.

We got home about 11pm and we were all super tired.

Sunday, we partied reverently by eating breakfast and watching the Prince of Egypt.  We went to Church, and ate nachos for dinner.  This evening we took a walk around the neighborhood and Gwenevere fell asleep.  Right now, James is making Coffee cake and I am happily blogging.

I would say we live for the weekends, but to be honest, we just love to live.

Words

While eating a blackberry smoothly with Papa Gwenevere said: "It's PRETTY nummy."  "It's Purple."

And at dinner Gwenevere suggested: "Alisha, I want to share your chips."  meaning I want some of your chips will you share?

Gwenevere has a shirt that has the saying "My daddy is Handsome."  If you ask Gwenevere what her shirts says she'll tell you "My Daddy is Fancy."

Portland Children's Museum

While we where in Portland visiting family and friends.  We had the opportunity to go to the Children's Museum with the Sarah, Elijah and Skye Frantz.  It was a blast.  So many cool things.  My intentions were to write a detailed blog about our fun experience but since it's been over a week and I've completely forgot about half the things we did.  I'll let the pictures tell the story.

Gwenevere got so excited when she saw the Monkey Gorge sign.

Face painting was my favorite part

I bet you can guess what was Gwenevere's favorite part.   MONKEY GORGE

Gwenevere also enjoy the Veterinarian Clinic where she pretended to give a doggy a bath.
James' favorite part hands down was the water room.  Gwenevere and James played in the water for a good 30 minutes straight.

Next was the theater

So she wasn't much of a performer but it was still entertaining

Elijah and Skye took over and did the performance of a life time

Last of all Gwenevere and James got their hands dirty in the pottery room
By this time we finished Gwenevere was a walking zombie ready for a nap.  But we had so much fun.  Thanks Frantz family for the fun trip.

Friends

I am so grateful for good Friends.  I have no doubt in my mind that Heavenly Father didn't just pick us up from Hawaii and placed us here for a reason. I know He's watching out for our family and since we first arrived here the Lord has blessed us with many wonderful things.  One of the many blessings we've shared is the blessing of good Friendships.  And it is a blessing.  We have the best friends anyone could ask for.  And there are soooooo many.  :)  I just wanted to say Thank you Heavenly Father.

I know he's watching out for the whole family too.  Gwenevere's social life is not lacking to say the least.

So once again.  Thanks.  Thank you for being our friends, thank you for sharing your life with us, and thanks so much for the wonderful enfluences you have on our family.

I only wish i had recent pictures with all our friends.  For those not represented with a picture I want you to know we thought of you.  The Telford Family and Day Family and many others.

First day

Today is James' first day of his first internship.

I would say he looked nervous but I think he was more excited than nervous.  I was hoping he would call on his lunch break and tell me all about his day so far but he must be really busy because there was no call.  I can't wait for him to come home and tell me all about it.

Crash and burn: There's a first for everything

On Saturday James went biking with his friend.  When james left he said he'd be back by noon.  So when Lunch time came and went I started wondering if I should be worried.   James is usually acturate guessing how long a ride will take him.  James had never had an accident before and he was with a friend so I wasn't too worried but in the back of my mind I kept thinking "something isn't right".  Well an hour past and I started to get a little more nervous.  I called his phone 3 times and he never answered.  Usually I can call him two times in a row and he knows he has to stop biking and answer my call when I call like that.

Finally James arrived home. He looked a little wiped out.  I asked him if everything was okay.  He's response was "I'm so glad my bike is okay."

James went on to tell me that first he got a flat tire on his front wheel.  Which is Ironic because the day before we were talking about how he needed new tires soon and he said he had never had a flat tire on his front wheel.  Well, there's a first for everything.

But besides having a flat tire he had to patch, he also crashed his bike for the first time.  He was so happy that the bike wasn't broken but his hip and shoulder are pretty nasty.   I would take pictures of the bruses but my weak Pregancy stomach gets sickening knots every time that I look at them.  James also ripped his recently new bike jacket but if he hadn't been wearing it I'm pretty sure he would have lost a LOT more skin down his arm.

For the most part he's okay, just sore in random areas and one really dark bruise on the inside of his leg.

Anyway, It's not a pleasant story but since it was a first, I figured it was worth documenting.

High tempatures

So this past week has been amazing.  We had some really nice sunny days and we took advantage of every minute.

Speaking of High Temperatures: Gwenevere had a fever of 102.7 the highest she has ever been.  It was kinda scary but this morning we found a two year moler in her mouth.

Trip to Portland

Friday James had his last final at 8am.  He finished around 10am and come home to help clean and pack the car.  By noon James was on his way to Centralia WA ON HIS BIKE.  Just another 55 miler ride, that's it.  Gwenevere and I headed out the door with a very full car about 20 minutes later but we had some stops to make before meeting up with Papa.  First we went to my work bank to deposit some rent checks and than it was time for a scavanger hunt.  We went to 6 banks looking for 50 cent pieces.  Grandma Sharolee turned 50 a few weeks ago and we thought it would be fun to give her 50 50 cent pieces for her birthday.  Gwenevere was super excited to visit Red Grandma and her dog nick.  Whenever we go down to Portland it's about the only think Gwenevere likes to talk about for days afterwards.  SHE LOVES VISITING FAMILY.

a hour and a half later and with 50 50 cent pieces in our pocket, it was time to meet up with James, but by now Gwenevere was asking for Mc Donald's  and since I told her we'll go to Mac Donalds when we drive to Grandma and Grandpa Thomas' house she thought we should go to Mac Donald's on our way to Red Grandma's too.  She had been so patient and happy the entire time we went from bank to bank that I just couldn't resist her sweet plea to go to the "Fry Store".
We where having to much fun, I almost forgot what time it was, after Mac donald's we stopped by Motherhood and I bought a maternity tank top I could wear with some of my materity clothes and Gwenevere picked out two very soft stuffed Monkeys, One for her and one for Baby sister.  That is about the time I got a call from James letting me know he was 10 miles away from Centerlia (a 60 minute drive)  oooops.

Gwenevere and I jumped into the car and headed south as fast was we could.  Right before Gwenevere passed out (she was really ready for a nap) She said,   "Happy Mother's day Mama!"  It was so cute.  She said it 10 more times and each time I thanked her for a fun "mother's day" and told her I loved being her Mama.  A moment I want to remember.

Well an hour later we met up with James, and now with everyone in the car the excitement for Portland was really beginning to build up.  Gwenevere didn't sleep the rest of the way, instead she sang songs and talked about her uncles she was about to see.

When we arrived in Portland it was sunny and the city was BEAUTIFUL.  It's always nice to go back.  We stopped at Grandma Sharolee's house first to drop off some luaggage for Max and Rebecca.  Than we went to Red Grandma's house where Grandpa Roemhildt had dinner ready for us.  We ate dinner and played for a while and than decided to go Hot Tubing at Grandpa Roemhildt's place.  The only problem was, I didn't have swim bottoms that fit me anymore.  So Gwenevere and I stopped at Marshall's to see what we could find.  I found a pair of cute Swim shorts and Gwenevere found a pair of hot pink converse.  She had just grown out of her old converse and was refusing to wear any other shoe I tried to make her wear.  So the Neon Pink converse where a must.  :)

We had fun "swimming" in Grandpa's hottub and by the time we where done, Gwenevere was ready for bed.
Saturday morning we woke up got dressed and went to Grandma Sharolee's house for Breakfast.  She made the best meal ever.  A breakfast casserole, cinnamon roles, and a fruit salad.  Gwenevere loved the Cinnamon roles.  I think she ate a total of THREE.  We played with Grandma Sharolee, gave her her present and had a fun relaxing morning.  Than we put Gwenevere down for a nap at Grandma Sharolee's house and James and I went on a bike ride.  We road down to Value Villiage but didn't find anything really cool.  It was kinda a let down, but on the plus side, we didn't spend any money and the bike ride was fun.  When we got back to Grandma Sharolee's house Gwenevere was still asleep but we woke her up and biked back to Red Grandma's house.

When we arrived at Red G's house most of the extended family was there.  Yippee.  We had an amazing dinner and played tones of board games.  James and Daniel took a little bike ride down to REI for the fun of it and Gwenevere stayed close to Red Grandma in order to get lots of Cheetos.   She knew that if she asked me I would tell her to eat her broccoli first.  She is one smart kid.

On Sunday Grandpa Roemhildt brought the boys over and made Breakfast for everyone.  It was delicious.  James made some bacon and eggs and Grandpa cooked "scones"  (the biscuit kind) and brought over strawberries.

We went to Church at the Fanno Creek ward.  It's always fun to see some many familiar faces.  I had a chance to talk with Melissa NewMyer, bless her heart.  I love that lady so much.

After Church we to Sarah and Ezra Frantz'  house.  We met up with some friend from BYU-hawaii, got in their band bus and drove to Vancouver together.  We had a mini BYU-Hawaii reunion.  It was so much fun.  It was just like old times, except there where more kids this time.

On Monday Sarah Frantz and the kids took us to the Portland Children's Museum.  It was AWESOME.  I'll do another post on that later.

After the Children's museum we went to Sarah's Sister's house for launch and a bit of Lego fun.   Than it was time for naps.  After naps, We went to Green Grandma' house to visit.  Uncle Gary came home from work and played with Gwenevere for a while. He also made some Popcorn for us to eat. Gwenevere calls him Unkie Jerry.  And she loved playing with him.  It was fun to see Green Grandma again and to visit and watch the birds in her back yard.  After visiting we went back to Red Grandma's house for dinner and than it was time to pack up the car and head home.

Our Portland trips are always so full of fun.  It was nice to visit with the family again.

The PARK

Oh how I love spring.  I love that we can go to the park and spend hours doing everything and nothing and have so much fun.

I took Gwenevere to the park on Thursday.  We brought some chalk and had a blast.

Gwenevere Grew

Knock Knock and Birthdays

I over hear Gwenevere in the bathtub talking to herself.

"knock knock."  "Come in"  "It's Grandma's House!"

This morning Gwenevere woke up and started talking about Preston's birthday.  She kept asking if it's Preston's birthday.  "Go to Preston's house? Play with Preston's BALLS?  And his Stairs?  And his BEDROOM?"   Now if only she could wait a few more weeks.

Love for your walls

Thank you Auntie Kristi for your amazing art work.  This poster hangs in Gwenevere's room.  I hope Gwenevere will learn to love and cherish the inspirational words of our Prophets.

trains

I walked into the kitchen and found Gwenevere playing in her Syrup.  I asked what she was doing and her response.
  "I'm making a train."

I love imagination

And on another bright note, I love sunny mornings.
