Uncle Dano's Visit

We had a lot of fun with Uncle Dano in town.

Monday:  donuts and pick up Dano from the train station.

Tuesday:  Northwest Trek with Jill Johnson and kids.  thanks Jill for the photos

Wednesday: clean house, picnic at the splash park, Value Village and Grocery run.  (I know, my life is so exciting)

Thursday: Visit Papa's work, picnic lunch with Papa, Point Defiance zoo.  Gwenevere asked to have an animal sucker.  She asks everytime we go to the zoo and I always tell her "not this time."  Well this time when she I asked I said "Okay".  We needed to buy Dan a drink anyway.  When I told Gwenevere she could have a sucker she replied with shock.  "WHAT?!  Wow, okay mom."  She was one happy camper.

Friday:  Work day, I had the plumber here for the first four hours of the day.  Uncle Dano watched Gwenevere while I took Grace with me to all the apartments.  When I finally finished we needed to get out of the house.  Whenever Gwenevere watches 4 hours of tv it's never a good day.  We went to the tot park and played for an  hour then picked up a pizza for dinner and went home to watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony.

Saturday:  We packed our bags and went drove to Zion's camp to go camping.  We rented a canoe and paddle boat and had a lot of fun playing by the water.  Then we roasted hot dogs for dinner and then played on the coolest swings ever.  We finished the night roasting Marshmallows.

Sunday:  we ate breakfast, packed up camping, played some more on the playground and then drove to Bremerton to ride the ferry into Seattle.  The ferry ride was wonderful.  It was a much needed family retreat. Once we reached Seattle we walked to the Space needled and that's when I broke down inside, oh how I wish I had a camera for this moment.  oh well.  We watched a bit of the Spanish festival that was taking place near by, then we wondered over to a big splash park.  James took Grace down by the water and the two of them had fun for an  hour.  The splash park was amazing.  It was this gigantic silver ball with water squirting out from all over.  Gwenevere wasn't very interested in the water but we all had fun watching.
Gwenevere was also wearing her new dress from Grandma Sharolee and it looked priceless.  We had a wonderful day.

Today was a lazy day,  I tried to clean the house and make dinner.  Dan was able to watch Dr. Who/

Tomorrow we take Dan to the airport so he can fly down to Sacramento to be with his family.  It sure was fun having him to ourselves for a few days.  Thanks for coming Daniel,  I hope we do this again next summer.

Too much fun for blogging

We've been having so much fun lately.  I just love summers.  Besides completely ruining our kids schedules, we also managed to go walking around chambers bay several times, hiking on Mt. Rainier, get frozen yogart at "Black Bear's Frozen Yogart" in Lakewood (which is the best), Celebrate my birthday, visit the Tacoma glass museum, walk to the local 7-Eleven and get Slurpees, (it doesn't help that Gwenevere has been give a free Slurpees coupon and each time we go we forget to bring it with us so we have to go back again another day). We've visited the NorthWest Trek with friends, have bookclub once a week, take lots of trips to the splash park and of course our weekly trip to the zoo.

We also had Grandpa Thomas come spend a week with us, which was awesome.  Gwenevere still talks about how fun it was to have Grandpa Thomas all to herself.

And now we have Uncle Dano staying with us for a week.  WE LOVE HIM!  So if you don't see me posting again til the end of the summer you'll know why.  We're having too much fun.  And because I must admit the truth.  I broke my camera.  :-(  actually I broke two cameras in the  space of three weeks.)  Did I mention we are having a lot of fun.  Apparently I can't handle a camera and so much excitement at the same time.  Don't worry James has said he'll try and fix them.  I just hope he'll be able to find some time.

Until next time here are some of the last pictures taken on my camera before it was dead.

Me On my 27th Birthday.  I was still recovering from the trip to Utah.

We went out to eat. can you tell I was excited?

The pointy building in the background is the world famous Tacoma Glass Museum.

in the background you can see, the Tacoma bridge, the Tacoma dome and Mt. Rainier.  (okay so it's really hard to see Mt. rainier in this picture, but it's there.)
