BACK TO SCHOOL BLESSINGS

James was able to give the kids back to school blessing before we met with their new learning coordinators.  this year to did it a bit different with one on one blessings.  First James gave me a blessing.

Elizabeth;  Blessed with courage, help from her husband and the ability to teach the lessons she wishes to teach.

then Everett came into the bedroom to receive his Father's blessing

Everett:  blessed to listen to his teachers,  blessed to learn the lessons he needs, and blessed to find joy in learning.

after Everett left Grace came in

Grace:  Blessed with a curious mind to seek out learning, strength to understand difficult things and knowledge to avoid dangerous things.

Last but not least Gwenevere received her blessing

Gwenevere:  Blessed with patience. blessed to have her mind opened and to think critical.  blessed to take rests when you need it.

We didn't feel a need for Edgar to receive a father's blessing at this time but we pray for him daily and love watching him learn and grow.

I'm so excited for another great year of learning.  I feel really good about the new school year and i'm excited to see what we learn this year as a family.

We won't be skipping the Fair this year

The kids where playing outside when Grace came in and announced that the County Fair is being held in our backyard this year.

"We've got rabbits and chickens on display and Gwenevere is doing a lasso demonstration in the arena".  (the trampoline)

It's nice to know we've go the fall necessities in our backyard.  I think I should make some Corn Dogs,  scones, and elephant ears.

Edgar's sayings

Edgar has special words he loves to say

Yummy - Food

Moe moe- water, milk, lake, river pretty much any form of liquid

Choo Choo- trains, cars, Trucks

Ho Ho- Horse

Sheeeeep- Sheep

Moo moo- Cows

Today he let his little secret slip.  We where playing at the beach when he ask me "Mama Yummy?"

I told him that the food was in the car and he repeated "Yummy in the car," then realizing what he not letting a single second slip by he automatically corrected himself by saying  "choo choo".  hahahahhaha  I knew he was a stubborn child.

Come follow me study notes of Devine worth

I am one of God’s favorite and they have never been mad at me.

The more I know Christ the more i will love him.  Self invitation to get to know Christ better.  I have the desire to love him more fully.

I think about how impactful it would have been for me to see, from a young age, people of all colors, shapes, sizes and ethnicities, ...depicted as deity.

Gratitude journaling

As part of our come follow me study from last week we decided to share “how we have felt’s the Saviors presence that day” each night a.

Tonight James said
“I am grateful none of my kids have ridden a motorcycle in the last 24 hrs.”
Elizabeth:  and how does that help you remember our Savior?

James: “ Jesus never rode a motorcycle.”

The kids busted up laughing imagining Jesus on a motorcycle.  Robes flapping in the breeze.

James “no wearing sandals on a motorcycle.”

The kids were rolling on the floor.

I hope our kids remember the conversations we had about our loving, Savior.

Growing pains

Well I had new first in parenting.  Yesterday Grace needed some quite time from siblings because she was lashing out.  In her anger she took scissors to Gwenevere’s shirts and cut holes in 4 of them.  😳. Gwenevere doesn’t have a lot of shirts and they where Gwenevere’s favorites.  We discovered one last night and today realized there was more damage.  We don’t do a whole lot of paid chores but I now need to come up with a way for grace to earn 40.00 to replace the shirts she damaged.  ☹️🤪🤔

Grace has the hardest tine with cleanliness out of all my kids and really struggles to finish jobs.  This is going to be hard for her.  What are good chores for an 8 year old what would be above her normal responsibilities.  She needs to earn the money fast because gwenevere needs new shirts

April

Despite all are fun activities being canceled due to the covid 19 pandemic, we've had a fun month.
Edgar is going stir crazy the most.  He's reach new heights in his mischiefs.  hehehhee

The girls hit a growth spurt and we had to do some shopping.  I felt like a rebel for taking my girls shopping but what can you say.  we are rebel girls.  that's for sure.  We bought bras for both girls and celebrated with wendy's frosties.

We've enjoyed a few backyard hotdogs and marshmallow roasts.   because why not.  The garden is coming together nicely.  James and worked hard to prep the ground and the kids have loved helping plant starts.

Twinners
I was invited to hike the Tetons with Laura and Grace and a few friends.  So in preparation I've been walking a lot more.  here's to nightly walks around the neighborhood, and quiet time to think.  It's been wonderful.

The girls cleaned up the rabbit hutch and played olden time days.  They made aprons and knitted worry dolls.

Since church has been canceled we've been enjoying home centered worship and have loved the opportunity to partake of the sacrament in our home.  On Sundays when Papa has to work we enjoy visiting at lunch.  I LOVE Sundays.

Lucky us. right before covid hit the US we ordered tiny dinosaurs from Ali Express.  It took a month to have them delivered but they couldn't have come at a better time.  It was so great to get a package in the mail.  The new dinosaurs have provided hours of entertainment.  and a whole new level of Lego building.  We have our own Jurassic world

Edgar and Everett have started playing with each other.  It's so fun to watch their relationship grow.  I was worried the age gap would be hard on them.  And for most of the time it is.  but it's nice to see them bonding too.
Easter was around the corner and I wanted a Christ center experience.  So I drove to Portland to pick up a few items from the Desert Bookstore.  We also stopped by Rebecca's house to meet her new chicks and to round around with cousins 6 ft apart.  hahhahaha  we also met up with the Frantz family to pick up Gwenevere's toothbrush and to see friends.  it's been so long.   Sarah Frantz told us about Wendy's having a free frosty with the purchase of a frosty keychain so we bought keychains for everyone.

When you wake up and all the kids and the cat are just hanging out on Everett's bed.
Since school has been canceled, church canceled, gymnastics canceled, playdates canceled.  we've taken extra care to get outdoors and renew my soul.  Mt Pisgah hike and picnic dinner.  We wanted to watch the full moon rise but we missed it.  On the way home we saw the moon and it was BEAUTIFUL.

Finishing crafts that have been hanging around

Grace learning to Crochet

The bees have been busy
Conference Weekend.  OH my soul is is happy.  I look forward to reading the talks and studying the Prophet's words.

We are so excited for berry season

since we aren't going anyway,  Edgar is learning about PEE

oh the places' you'll learn

Naptime might be my favorite part of the day
Gwenevere pulled out the sewing machine one day and asked to make stuffed animals.  She did all the work herself and sold 10 stuffed animals in her fundraising for Tara's Tabbies.

bike days

Today we took a bike ride to the local park, we set up the slackline, hammock and brought a picnic.  We listened to local musicians play at the park, and played games.
It's days like today that remind of the joy of simplicity.
