Gwenevere: I'm taking Kiki to the litter box because she has to go potty.
Papa: How do you know?
Gwenevere: in a frustrated voice "I know she does, cause I know everything"

39 weeks pregnant 2 more weeks to go.
baby, baby, baby, baby, playtime, clean up time, baby, baby baby. dinner, clean up, laundry, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, Bedtime, baby baby baby. yep that's about all i've been thinking about the last week.
We had an awesome week celebrating baby brother while waiting for his arrival. James' work put together a sweet baby shower for us and his co-worker who is due Sept 17th. It's a race to see who has their baby first. Then some sisters in my ward decided to have a last minute baby shower for my and the girls, we went to Mcdonalds played, ate lunch and unwrapped many beautiful gifts from so many wonderful ladies. I am truly spoiled. Then on Saturday my good friends through me a girls night out baby shower. I just love all my friends. We sat around talking and laughing and eating Pineapple cake (pineapple is suppose to help induce labor). It was oh so yummy. Still no baby but it was so much fun.
Now that we are completely showered with love and gifts for baby brother I'm even more anxious for him to come. At first I was thinking he should come late and arrive on Sept 17th so all our kids would be born on the 17th of the month. Now I really really don't care when he comes I just want to see him now. hehehe
Actually after hearing that my platelet count had dropped James expressed his desire to have baby brother sooner than later just so my platelets don't have a chance to drop much lower before baby brother is born. So please keep us in your prayers. We really want to have a safe and healthy labor and delivery.
I really do feel great. some days I wake up and think oh today is going to be the day, I wobble around the house whining until I finally go lay down, then I wake up a few hours later feeling awesome and ready to run. Kinda disappointing but at the same time who can complain that they feel great. LOL Yesterday we went and walked the Tacoma Narrows bridge, I was hoping this would help get contractions going but not a single contraction accord. I guess labor isn't going to take place anytime soon. but who knows for sure.
Okay the girls are kicking me off the computer so they can watch Care bears. I need to go start some laundry and call James. He's fishing this morning. yum yum. Anyway, I'll be back to post pictures on the blog soon.

Crazy parents and nicknames
I was talking with Gwenevere and Grace in the car ride home today and this is how our conversation went.
Mama: tomorrow you'll go over to Adelaide's house for a movie night
Gwenevere: Will you be there?
Mama: No I'm going on a date with Papa.
Gwenevere: Oh good my crazy parents won't be there.
Grace: And I'll be happy
Gwenevere to Grace: You won't cry?
Grace: No, I won't cry, I'll be happy.
I'm glad our girls won't miss us while we're gone. LOL
Over the past week Grace has started calling Gwenevere Gwen. I started out correcting her saying "you mean Gwenevere" But Grace's little persistence makes me think she has a mind of her own. I'm not sure how much longer our little Gwenevere will be Gwenevere. I knew this day might come, but I thought it would be a cause of outside influences, like going to school, I never thought it would be a little sibling who decides to shorten Gwenevere's name. Bittersweet. I'm going to keep calling her Gwenevere and see if Grace decides to change her mind, but I've decided I'm not going to correct Grace anymore, besides Gwenevere doesn't seem to mind it and Gwenevere has vocalized her opinion about her name to others who have tried to shorten it so I think she's okay with Grace calling her Gwen.

Knock on Wood
Warning: This is my pessimistic blog post about my pregnancy, feel free to skip it.
I should have knocked on wood. Seriously, can't a woman ever get a break. I mean the whole pregnancy, labor, and after birth stuff is just sometimes down right rude. LOL
I think most women dream about their perfect pregnancies, their perfect ideal birth setting and a quick recovery but only a rare few ever get all three. I wish I knew the secret to change all that. Every woman deserves the best of all three. I mean after all, they are bringing new life into this world, you'd only hope that the whole processes would be a pleasant experience.
Well, I really don't have a lot I can complain about, I have been blessed with some amazing pregnancies, okay labors and quick recoveries. But that doesn't mean I haven't had to sweat over, worry and even cry about the whole situation.
With Grace's birth it was hard trying to find the right caregiver, then my health was ever so wobbly that I wasn't ever sure I'd be able to have a home birth like I had planned, but in the end it all turned out okay, At least for me, Poor James was put through the ringer watching me hemorrhage all over our bed while holding baby Grace just a few minutes old and thinking to himself, my wife is going to die. Through it all he's been an amazing support and yes, he has even agree to let my try to have a second home birth.
This pregnancy has been awesome, I found an amazing midwife very quickly, (sad to see that I wasn't going to be using Char again, she was also incredible but happy to know I was making the right decision.)
the first trimester was like all my firsts, not so fun but not horribly terrible either. My second Trimester was AMAZING with great lab results and blood tests, lots of fun summer adventures and a steady weight gain.
And then came my third trimester. I kept waiting for the aches to begin, the pain in my hips and all that other unpleasant exposure the third trimester brings. People would ask how I'm feeling and I would reply, GREAT. At first I was taken back by many persons responses of shock when I told them how good I was feeling and then it occurred to me that I should probably dress the way I feel and then more people would believe that I feel so good. LOL PJs with no makeup at the grocery store, isn't the best way to say "I FEEL GREAT"
But I really do feel great.
Occasionally I have heart burn, baby brother loves to put his foot in my rib cage and every once in awhile I get annoyed with all the braskin hick contractions that occur but other than that I feel like baby brother could stay in me for another month or more. (yikes)
I kept saying to myself, this can't be real, something sometime has to go wrong and with a nervous pause I would think "what is it going to be?" but then I would shrug and say, no way, I deserve a great pregnancy and easy birth, nothing is going to go wrong. This is where I should have knocked on wood.
Last week I had a little pregnancy spasm that left me feeling fatigued, moody, nauseous and not like myself. Bummer. When I expressed my worries to my midwife she explained that this is common and just means baby brother is soon to arrive. Yippee. She also recommended taking more calcium as it could help with the muscle spasms, which it has. But to be on the safe side of things we decided we should do another blood draw and make sure my iron is normal. Good news Iron is great, not so good news, my platelet count has dropped dramatically. GRRRRR Now she wants to set up an active management plan. Why do I hate those words so much? LOL It just means I won't be getting my perfectly planned labor like I have dreamed and put so much effort into making come true. I'm still digesting this new piece of information and my "not so feel good state" isn't helping the situation but i'll get there eventually. Thanks for letting me "thought vomit".

Good day or not so much
Woke up this morning with a headache: not so good
Feed girls breakfast: yeah I'm a good mom
Don't feel like doing anything so I turn on the computer and let me girls watch 3 hours of TV. Not so good
Take a relaxing bath: good day
Feeling better after the bath so I decide to hang up the curtains for our sunroom: good day
Start two loads of laundry: Good day
Girls are still watching TV and now they have a bag of cheerios and food is everywhere. I don't really care: not so good.
Since the girls are eating cheerios I don't bother to make them lunch: not so good
Finally I kick them off the computer so I can blog about the curtains I just put up, they make a big mess. Not so good
While on the computer Gwenevere and Grace bring me a bag of oreos to eat, I eat 6-7 oreos and let them each eat a few, no wonder we didn't eat lunch. Not so good.
Girls get hungry so I feed them milk chocolate and bread sticks: not so good
Friend stops by with a pile of cute boy clothes she got a garage sale for me: super sweet, good day
Turn off the computer and help the girls write letters to their friends: Good day
Sweep up cheerio mess: good day
Then we make beaded necklaces: Good day
Beads spill everywhere, I have no energy to clean up again, we pick up most of the beads but the house is quickly falling apart. Not so good
Go down stairs to change the laundry and tidy up my room so I can say I cleaned a little today: Good day
While rummaging through my dresser drawer I find my camera charger I had lost two weeks ago. Super good day.
So even though my house is a mess, I have no energy, and I've done a terrible job eating healthy today, over all it's been a good day, laundry washed, curtains hung, new boy clothes, letters to our friends in the mailbox and my camera battery charging.
Tomorrow will be even better. I even told the girls already that we will have no TV time tomorrow and they both said OK.

Sunroom curtains
James, I put up the curtains in the sun room. I only used one set what do you think?
I can add the blackout fabric if we want.
Now I just need to figure out how to put the light back up
And someday paint the floor

Labour Day Weekend: false labor and a whole lot of physical labor
I should be sleeping right now, but the quiet house has a very calming feeling at this moment and I'm enjoying the last moments of being a Mama of two.
What a crazy whirlwind of a weekend. Let's see, Friday night we had an awesome BBQ at our house. An end of summer celebration with lots of friends.
Saturday James went fishing, we worked on cleaning the house, we organized all the toys and installed cabinets in the laundry room. Then we decided we needed a brake so we went to run errands and decided to go swimming a Stewart park instead. We had a blast. I even went down the waterslide. Yep i'm that crazy pregnant lady. It wasn't until after I had laid down on my back headed down the waterslide not being able to see over my massive belly that I realized laying down was a bad idea. What if I wasn't able to sit up at the bottom of the slide. LOL thank goodness I was able too. Needless to say I only went down the slide once.
Then Sunday we went to Church and the girls where actually pretty revenant. It was a very spiritual filling Sunday. James and I met with the 1st Councilor of the Stake Presidency where James accepted a new calling with tears in his eyes as he had to say goodbye to his dream calling (High adventure Scout Leader) that he only held for a month. James is now serving as the first councilor in the Elder's Quorum Presidency. He has mixed feeling about his new calling but we know he will do a great job. After Church we went over to our friends house for a birthday celebration. We are so blessed to have good friends. James spent most of the time talking about fishing as his two buddies and him were planning their first fishing trip together.
We came home late to find Grandma Sharolee, Uncle Austin and Uncle Daniel waiting for us to come home. We just love having them come to visit. Gwenevere and Grandma Sharolee shared a bed, poor Grandma probably doesn't get good sleep when she comes but Gwenevere LOVES every minute of it.
We finally went to bed around 11pm and at about 1:30 I was awakened by a crazy instance session of contractions that lasted for a few hours. around 2:30 James and I decided I trip to the store to pick up last minute birthing supplies was probably in need, just in case this wasn't a false alarm. By the time we got back home it was almost 4am and my contractions has settled down so we all went back to sleep for a little while longer. At 5am James took off to go fishing with his buddies and so unfortunately only got 2.5 hours of sleep that night.
Grandma made breakfast Monday morning and then got to work painting that sunroom, installing bathroom hardware, vacuuming the car and doing other random jobs that have been on my summer to do list for far to long.
After putting Grandma and the boys to work all day we loaded up the cars and drove back out to our friends house for yet another awesome party this time a Salmon bbq party. We ate lots of fish and even some cheese cake. Yum yum
It was a crazy busy weekend but oh so productive.
I'll post pictures of the sunroom once I put up the curtains. Hopefully tomorrow but I'm so excited for the way it turned out. I'm loving the blue and white combo.

painting the sunroom white
Gwenevere and Grace wanted to paint too, so we pulled out their easel and let them paint while the big people painted on the walls.
Grace helping me make lunch for all the hard works
I vacuumed out the car and installed three carseats
I can rest easy now knowing baby brother's carseat will fit in our car.
Thanks Teresa for letting us use your infant carseat.
