Little sayings

"Night, Night.  I'll wake up happy."

"Mama carrying the baby?  In your tummy?

While pointing to my stomach "mama, baby hungry".

On our way home from our ultra sound appointment James and I were talking about how excited James was to be a daddy of two girls.  And then Gwenevere said "Daddy Daddy".  James said "What Gwenevere?"  and Gwenevere replied "I got boogers".  It made us laugh to think our cute little girl likes to talk about boogers.

On our way home from the Zoo for the first time,  I asked Gwenevere what was her favorite part and she replied "Zoo pass" and then fell asleep.

Our Lucky Day

Today was by far the best St. Patrick's day ever.  We had two appointments one with a nutritionist and one with the Doc for an ultrasound.  James got up early and biked ahead to the Doctor's office and enjoyed his 17 mile ride.  Gwenevere and I followed behind.  We meet with the Nutritionist first and that went great.  Then it was time for the Ultra Sound.  Gwenevere was super good.  She cuddled up next to James and watched the ultrasound until she fell asleep.  The Ultra Sound tech went through and examined everything before we found out the gender.  I really liked that.  With Gwenevere the first thing we saw was her gender, and I don't remember much more than that.  So to enjoy seeing my baby's brain and arms and fingers and toes and kidneys and tummy before finding out the super exciting news, was pretty amazing.  The Doctor was so impressed with our baby's heart, she kept saying  this is textbook material.  Meaning, "Super good footage."  Our baby was so calm and easy to examine.  Here is just a glimpse of our excitement.

The much talked about heartbeat

The Doctor actually had video footage that showed all four chambers of the heart and the two valves between.

Gwenevere was right.
She has a baby sister on the way.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I had originally scheduled this post to appear on St. Patrick's Day but since we'll be having an ultrasound appointment on Thursday and hopefully a lot to blog about.  I figured it's best to publish this post sooner.

Super Saturday take 2

I know I said last Saturday was Super.  But this Saturday was super too.  We've been talking about getting a zoo pass for a while now and we finally did it.  We went to the Zoo regardless of all the rain.  It was great.  I asked Gwenevere what was her favorite thing and she said "Zoo pass".  After a picnic at the zoo we where on our way home when we passed by a cheap movie theater and saw that they where playing "tangled"  So we ran a few errands stopped by the house and then went to the movies.  It was the first time taking Gwenevere and she loved the popcorn and pop and sat through most of the movie but by the end she was ready to be done.  We probably wont' take her to the theater again any time soon but it was so fun.  Sitting together all three of us watching a movie and being so cool.  After the movie (Which I really liked,) we went to the mall to buy Sees candies. We played at the play center and then went to JC penny's to look at suits for James.

I have pictures to upload and add to this blog but I'll do that later.  For now, I'm going to each a piece of Chocolate with James and watch a movie as we fall asleep.

Bedtime Hero

Gwenevere's conversation before I laid her down to sleep

Gwenevere: "Papa's birthday over."
Mama: "Yes Papa's birthday is over"
A moment in thought
Gwenevere: "Papa made the stars."

Another quiet pause
Gwenevere: "Papa swam with Dolphins"

I think Gwenevere loves her Papa.

Yes Papa hung glow in the dark stars in Gwenevere's bedroom.  And Yes, while living in Hawaii Papa swam with dolphins, even a baby dolphin.  This seems to be Gwenevere's favorite story at the moment.

Not only is Papa Gwenevere's bedtime hero, but when Gwenevere wakes up in the morning her first question usually is"Where's Papa?"

Today while reading stories with Gwenevere, Gwenevere explained to me that this particular book was "Papa's book" and that "No Mama, Papa reads this book".  It's a book about a boy who becomes a Pirate.  I guess you have to have the right Pirate voice to read the book and Papa has it.

Daddy Daughter date

Last friday james came home from school and said  "I need Ice Cream".  Since i'm trying not to eat a lot of sugar I suggested a Daddy Daughter date to the Baskin-Robbins just down the street.   So the two of them headed out in the rain to get some Ice Cream.

Gwenevere still talks about her experience tasting Ice Cream and wants to go on another daddy daughter date soon.

James you are the best Papa ever.

Hoping it's just a phase

Lately Gwenevere is refusing to get dressed.  On days I can get her out of her PJs and into some normal clothes, it only last for a while and then she finds herself a pair of PJs from the laundry bin and puts them on.  James says it's because she sees me in my PJs way to much.  Which I can't really argue but I've been doing better at getting dressed for the day.  So I'm hoping Gwenevere's PJ wearing is just a phase.

The Second pair of PJs for the day.
