Camping day two: Olympic Game Farm, Dungeness spit, and story time by the campfire

Saturday morning it was our time to cook.  James made a wonderful breakfast that we all enjoyed.

Everett playing with Ike

I see a beginning of a life long friendship blooming
After breakfast, the Johnsons and Boxs packed up and then we headed to the Olympic Game farm for some fun times.  The olympic game farm is a refuse for retired movie animals.  We all piled into the Box's van, filled up on bread in preparations of feeding the animals.

the first stop was the deer

then we piled back onto the car for the rest of the trek

Grace was so excited to lead a dance party in the van

our trusty driver Mr. Jason stopped by a Llama

Everett loved all the "Ducks"  birds, Seagulls flying around

This muskox burped in our car.  EEEEEW  and Hilarious all at the same time

After the feeding of animals we got out of the car and explored some more.  They had a train which was Everett's favorite part.  A snake exhibit which was Grace's favorite part, and a goat feeding place, which was Gwenvere's favorite.

After the Olympic Game Farm, the Box family needed to head back home for a birthday party,  But the Johnson's were able to hang out longer.  So we went over to the Dungunis Spit to play in the water and have a picnic.

I think she's enjoying her camping experience even though when asked she says no

After the beach the Johnson's headed home.  Leaving just us for the night.  I ran to walmart to pick up a few groceries, then we ate dinner, explores some more, watched the sunset and read Sarah Plain and Tall by the camp fire.  It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.

Camping in Sequim with Friends. Day one

Camping with friends is the best.  And we have the best friends.

Friday afternoon we all managed to load up our cars and head out on an adventure.  The Johnsons, Boxs and Roemhildts.  It was wonderful.

We arrived at camp around dinner time,  Everyone set up camp and Vangie and Jason made dinner.  The kids went wild exploring the camp ground and playing on the trees.  Everett loved roasting marshmallows and getting dirty.
Everett was so happy the entire trip

Grace hung out with the boys

Papa put down the camera and help me climb down

these two never left each others sides

Later that evening James took the girls on a hike while I put Everett to sleep and helped clean up.

mid walk the girls decided to make sand angels

Everett wasn't ready to fall asleep so when James and the girls came back from their walk we went back out on another hike.

We had a special guest spend the night in our tent.  Gwenevere was so happy

By 10:00 pm all the kids where asleep and the big kids (aka adults) stayed up visiting around the camp fire.  It was awesome.

I'm starting to think Grace isn't an outdoorsie girl

today as we started packing to go camping Grace has hinted her dislike to this idea.

G: "Mom can, you and Gwenevere and me stay home?"
M:  "Are you feeling sicky?  I can stay home with you if you're not feeling well."
G:  "And Gwenevere, she stay home too."
M:  "No Gwenevere want's to go camping."

Later on while we are talking about going to the beach while we camp.

G:  "uh, I just wish we'd stay home and go to a swimming pool."

And later on Grace came up to me and said

G "Camping is like hiking....."
Me  "yes that's true, but when we camp we get to sleep in a tent, and roast marshmallows by the fire, and bring play outdoors.
G:  "I just want to sleep in my bed, I don't like hiking."

She hasn't flat out said she doesn't want to come but i'm beginning to get the hint.  hahahahha

Silly girl.  Hopefully she'll have a wonderful time and decide camping is her thing.
