Ladies Night

Wednesday night James spent the night at the new house so he could stay up late and work on projects.  To pass the time,  Gwenevere, Grace and I had a ladies night.  We watched "Wreck it Ralph"  and ate candy.  Grace slept through most of the movie but we all enjoyed the togetherness time.

Then tonight, James went straight to the house after work to do some more work.  My dinner turned out disgusting and the girls were not happy.  I wasn't going to let Friday night slip away like this.  So we got in the car and found ourselves at Chuck E Cheeses.  AWESOME!

Gwenevere went to Chuck E Cheese 2 years ago for a friends birthday party and she still remembers it.  So when we pulled into the parking lot she started screaming with delight.  Best impromptu girls night yet.

Grace is recovering from a terrible ear infection and the poor thing did the best she could to have fun.  But she mostly spent her time on my lap watch Gwenevere have a lot of fun.

Grace decided to ride the Clifford ride once
and seemed to enjoy it.

a real SLOW roller coaster

Eating our Cheese and Olive pizza
Yep Papa wasn't there.

My snuggle bug

riding the Large rocking horse all together as our last ride of the night

Gwenevere discovered she really liked the shooting games.  So with Grace in one hand and Gwenevere in the other (the game was too tall for Gwenevere)  I held a machine gun, and two girls, while Gwenevere blew up ugly alien bugs.  (this is not my thing).  Chuck E Cheese thought we where having too much fun.  So he decided to join us.  Yes, I holding two girls and Chuck E Cheese on my right hand side, we fought a brave fight.  After the game was over Chuck E Cheese gave Gwenevere some free tokens and the fun continued.  It was a pretty awesome moment in my book.

When we got in the car Gwenevere told me her favorite part was, riding Clifford, taking pictures, riding the big rocking horse, dancing with Chuck E Cheese, riding more rides, running like a mouse (it was a big wheel you run inside,) drinking root beer (we don't drink a lot of pop), and turning in the tickets for a pretty ring and CANDY!

I think we all had a lot of fun.

Happy Moments

This weekend we has a chance to go over to the house as a family and do a little work

We brought over our slide and the girls played outside for 2 hours.
I'm going to love having a yard

James patched the roof and cleaned some gutters while the girls played.

and I planted my Valentine flowers with the help of two excellent diggers

As of other good news.  I gave my 30+ day notice to my boss today.  The 45 minute conversation went well after my boss calmed down from the "short notice".  LOL  She is telling me I have to stay until May but I really really hope we're out of here before that.  In fact I'm not just hoping I'm telling you, we better be in our new home my April  30th or I might die.  LOL  Truth be told I'd like to move sometime between April 13-20th  that way I have enough time clean the apartment and get everything ready for the new manager to move in before the end of the month.

James is working some more on the house today.  We where able to get a better idea of the renovation we'll be doing in the kitchen and bathrooms and later this evening James will be going to his Bee keeping meeting.   Happy Monday Everyone.

Fun on Friday

We had an awesome Friday that basically started on Thursday.

Thursday I took the girls Swimming and picked up the key to our new home.

We will soon live less than a mile away from our favorite swim center Yippee

Gwenevere helping me document our first House

After a week of work I wasn't going to let Friday go to waste
We went to the zoo with some friends

After the zoo we decided we weren't done partying so we went to Mac Donalds for an hour and a half of playtime with our lunch.

Then we took naps in the car and drove to Chambers way to play in the ocean.

I love this girl's smile

I've never really care took much about what my girls wear as long as they have modest clothes on
It's fun to see their personality in the clothes they wear.

Making a big splash

Grace wasn't not a fan of the rocks and water
She preferred to be carried

yep, it was a pretty awesome day finished with bath-time swim-time

Now that's how I like to start a weekend.

Music to my ears

Thanks to our wonderful Grandma Sharolee.  We have a piano coming to our home.

Isn't she a beauty

Grandma Sharolee found her on craigslist and rounded a group of good looking guys to take her down three flights of stairs.

Yep I'm pretty excited.  And now I'm playing with the idea of a painted piano.  What do you think?

House update

So now that we finally have keys to the house.  I'll be posting a lot of house updates on our blog.  If you get sick of seeing the updates don't feel bad I'm posting for my own remembrance and it probably will get boring real fast.

House update #1

James cut a hole in the girl's bedroom closet to create a crawl space and to see the roof from the inside.  Good news last time the roof was replace they replaced the entire roof frame, all the wood looks brand new.  A big hooray.  We'll probably be replacing the roof this summer, until than James got some roof tar to put on some areas of concern.  Since James can't even fit in the crawl space he'll be closing up the whole entirely but it's nice to finally know the real condition of the frame.

We're buying a HOME

I didn't think it would ever happen but we did it.  We signed papers for the purchase of our first home. If everything goes smoothly we may get keys by Monday.  YIPPEE!

It's a great little fixer upper and we have our work cut out for us.  But James has been diligent with saving our money for the past six months so we should be able to make this little place our HOME!

So excited to finally to share this wonderful news.  I'll post pictures of our new baby (the home) and then tell the Whole story.
Front Yard
This will be the girls play area
The house is on a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view of the Puget Sound just 3 houses down

 Front door and living room
Will will be painting EVERY room
Paint colors to be determined, if you think of a beautiful color that will look amazing please share your thoughts and ideas.  We might not do it but we're open to some input.

The view from the Front door
left to right: dinning room, Kitchen, living room
We'll probably remove the closet to add room to the Kitchen

Kitchen
Thanks to some Wonderful wonderful friends, we have some beautiful cabinets that we will be able to use instead of these not so flattering ones.  So excited!

Kitchen view from the other side
We'll take down the big cabinet in the middle and add more counter space
I'm still trying to convince James of my big plans for the little kitchen  :-)
But I told him he could get his garage before we redo the kitchen so I'm trying really hard to be patient

 Upstairs bathroom
(future plans:  black and white tile floor, bright yellow shower curtain)

Our temporary master bedroom (upstairs)

Girls bedroom (upstairs)

Stairs (James will be redoing the banister)

family room downstairs
(the blue room is the pantry)

Laundry room
(We'll be adding black and white vinyl to the floor and shelves for storage)

Storage room till James builds his Garage
then master bedroom
(Gwenevere really really wants this room.
We keep telling her we're going to repaint it but she's insistent she wants this room.  silly girl)

Not sure what to call this room, but it's right next to the downstairs bedroom and next to the bathroom
I'm thinking we'll make this apart of the master bedroom at some point.

Downstairs bathroom with Shower
(black and white tile on the floor and a splash of color, I'm thinking maybe a bright blue)

 Backyard
James has big plans for the back yard.  I think this is what sold us on the house
(Someday the back yard will have:  an unattached garage, an apple tree, a plum tree and a cherry three,
rows of berry bushes, large veggie garden and two bee hives.  Possibly some chickens or bunnies for eating.

James spotted this house on the market back in July.  I was totally against it and didn't even let it be on our to view list for several months.  then in October they dropped the  price and it made it's way onto the list of houses to go see.  It was very tempting for the price but I still wasn't 100% sure.  Infact I was really hesitant   James loved the idea of this house, and I was  in full panic that we'd buy this house and I'd hate it.  hahahahha  Then in November they dropped the price again, and I was ready to reconsider it.  But we where too late someone else put an offer in on the house.  That's when I realized that I really did like the house and was sad to see it go.  Two weeks later it was back on the market.  our Realtor (my amazing brother, was out of town for the  weekend) and when he got back the house was pending again.  At this point James wasn't really into the house anymore and it was more of me that was wanting this house.  It's funny how things change, I guess it just wasn't the right timing.

Even though it was sale pending I just knew it would come back on the market again.  I even told James we need to have everything ready so when it does we can put an offer in.  Well, on Dec 19, 2012 it was re-listed and we jumped.  Will, (my brother) clarified why the last two pending fell through and we felt comfortable putting in an offer.
The seller came back telling us there were multiple offers and gave us 24 hours to resubmit an offer if we'd like. Boy that was a hard decision.  We basically asked ourselves how much are we willing to pay for this house.  And that was what we submitted for our 2nd offer.  Our offer won, yippee and because it was right around the Holidays we didn't get things set in in writing until December 27th.

Okay I have to go to James' work so I'll finish the story later.  Check back soon for an update.
