Preston's Baptism

After coming home from the Thomas reunion.  We unpacked our bags, washed our clothes and repacked for our next adventure.  Friday night we drove up to Sequim and stayed the night at Uncle Will and Aunt Jenni's house in preparation of Preston's baptism the next day.

Everett had a bum rash that needed some airing out  so James stayed home with Everett and I took the girls on this adventure alone.  Girl party!

Saturday morning we reverently got ready for the baptism.  Since it was just two kids to get ready we arrived early for the baptism.  We watched them fill the font and we took a pictures before the baptism.

Preston's Grandpas gave the talks.  Grandpa Southworth gave the talk on baptism  I loved his talk.  He said that Preston didn't need to have his sins washed away.  Preston had never sinned.  As a little child Preston was perfect in Christ  and that this baptism was a symbol of Preston's desire to follow Christ.   Then Grandpa Thomas got up and gave a nice talk about the Holy Ghost.  He talked about the Nephites receiving the Holy Ghost when Christ appears.  And that same power was the power Uncle Will would use to give Preston the Holy Ghost.

Then it was time for the Baptism.

We changed rooms and all the little children gathered by the font to watch.
As Preston entered the water, panic set in.

Preston wanted to be baptized but afraid to put his head under water.
Uncle Will comforted him,
We sang songs
closed the curtains
and eventually Preston was baptized.

The Bishop gave a great talk about how it was totally okay for Preston to be afraid.  He said he was proud of Preston for overcoming his fears and doing the right thing.

After the baptism the girls and I found ourselves garage sale shopping as we meandered back to Will and Jenni's home.

After changing clothes it was time to celebrate birthdays.

Uncle Will and Aunt Jenni rented out their neighbor beach house next to the beach.

We ate lunch, ate cake and played at the beach all afternoon.

Preston was emotionally exhausted from his baptism and just wanted to go home a sleep instead of party.  poor kid.  After cake and presents that's what he did.  He took an hour nap and then came back to the beach to play with all his cousins.

Since it was actually Jace's birthday that day they did a join party.  Jace was a bit more excited about his presents.

Auntie Jenni letting the kids each have a balloon.
After playing at the beach for 2 hours we went back to Will and Jenni's house to go Swimming.  LOL  You can never have too much water play.
Gwenevere doing a backflip
The pool was 3 feet deep a huge portion of the pool.  The kids could walk around all over the pool.  By the end of the night, Annie, Brookie and Grace where all three swimming on their own.  It was a very impressive night.

After swimming we went back to Will and Jenni's home and ate dinner.  Then we put PJs on and loaded up the car.  Grandma Thomas asked for Gwenevere to stay so we left her with cousins and Grace and I made our way back home to Papa and Everett.

Again it was a wonderful day.  Thank you Preston for letting us be apart of your baptism day.
