Grace turns 2

We've spent weeks talking about and anticipating Grace's 2nd birthday.

After many good birthday ideas we settled with the idea of doing a Balloon party at the park.

Grace woke up happy and when she realized that today was finally her birthday, (the day we'd talked about over and over again,) excitement rang through the house.  Grace opened her first birthday present and her and Gwenevere played while breakfast was being made.

Anutie grace surprised us with a impromptu visit with her friend Hyrum and we put them to work making the Birthday pinata, decorating the cake and getting the girls ready for the party.

It meant so much to me to have Auntie Grace here.
Little Grace and Auntie Grace are truly best friends.

Grandpa Roemhildt came early and took the best pictures for us, he also saved us a spot at the park until it was time for the party.

We decorated with balloons, played games (fishing, parachute and a balloon house) and rode bikes around the park.  We had a great turn out thanks to friends and tons of family.

The party guests included
The little Roemhildt family: James, Elizabeth Gwenevere and Grace
Auntie Grace and Hyrum
Grandpa Roemhildt
Grandma Sharolee, Austin, Dan and Great Grandma Wilcox
Tessha, Patrick, Anderson and Evan
the Johnson family,
The Telfords
The Box family,
and
The Day family,

I only wish I had made a larger cake

We also had cracker sandwiches, watermelon and drinks to share so nobody when hungry.  but many of the big kids aka Adults didn't get a piece of cake.

When it came time to blowing out the candles, Grace just sat there watching them burn.  We sang to her twice and then everyone helped blow them out.  Grace was very excited about her birthday candles, she made extra effort to let me know exactly which birthday candles she wanted when we where at the store, even though I already had birthday candles at home.  So we got the "BIG" candles for her and she wasn't about to just blow them out just because everyone was telling her to do so.  She wanted to enjoy the burning of her BIG candles.

After eating cake it was present time

Grace was spoiled with lots of presents
Mom, Papa and Gwenevere:  A play cookie sheet and cookies
Grandma and Grandpa Thomas: $5.00
Grandpa Roemhildt: block puzzles
Grandma Sharolee, Austin, Dan: a baby doll
Great Grandma Wilcox: $10.00
Tessha, Patrick, Anderson and Evan: A stuffed bear
the Johnson family: a cute white and pink flower outfit and preschool supplies,
The Telfords: a homemade stuffed kitty cat that looks just like Finn
The Box family: an adorable pink ballerina shirt and a Brave toy
The Day family: An adorable rainbow shirt, blue shorts and a cute hairbow
Lina: a cute yellow and pink lemonade dress
Great Green Grandma: $10.00

After presents it was Pinata time

Aidan made the first dent in the pinata with his power swing, it didn't last long after that.

Kyler and Logan shared their candy with Grace even though she already had some.
these boys are truly the most generous little guys I know

After the birthday party, we packed up and went back home,  Many family members stopped by to see our new home.  It was fun to show off all the hard work James has done, I just wish it wasn't so messy.  Sorry everyone, my energy levels have come crashing down, With all the birthday planning and prep work I didn't have enough time to clean the house too.  We ordered Pizza and had a lovely picnic dinner in the front yard.  Then slowly everyone left to go home,  James and I took advantage of Auntie Grace's stay and went on a quick date night so that we won't have to put the girls to bed.  hehehehe  While James and I where out of the house, Auntie Grace and Hyrum put the girls to bed and cleaned the entire upstairs.  We're so spoiled.
Over all we all had a great day.
Happy Birthday Little Grace

PS

Call me crazy but this picture brings tears to my eyes.

I love my little Grace, She is a joy to have in our family.  I love watching her learn and grow.  She has a wonderful big sister who cares and watches over her.

Grace you are needy,
 you love life
and you bring a smile to all those who are in contact with.
I love that you are a thinker
You ask questions
you express you thoughts and desires
You feel loved when you are with those who love you and you give love freely when you feel safe
You are stubborn and independent
You're not afraid to be big but you enjoy being care for and protected

I can't wait till next year when we get to celebrate your birthday again

The party was fun but the best part was

Celebrating YOU!

Happy Birthday GRACE
