Camping in June on the coast is iffy business, you never know what the weather will be like. We got lucky and had the time of our lives.
On our way from Saddle Mountain we stopped by costco and bought another sleeping bag. The first night I shared a double bag with all the kids while James slept in his backpacking bag. It wasn't the best night sleep for me, hehehehehe so we decided Gwenevere was big enough for her own bag. She was SOOOO excited to have her own sleeping bag. It was a great investment.
We arrived later on that evening, set up camp, ate dinner and then took a 50 yard walk to the beach where we could watch the sunset. Since we didn't have marshmallows the first night we made sure to roast marshmallows the second night of our camping.
During the night raccoon came into our camp ground and started sniffing around. We didn't have anything for them to get into but James woke up and threw some rocks at them. The second night James slept with his sling shot in hopes he'd get another chance to scare them off.

In the morning James made breakfast, and yes we let Gwenevere roast marshmallows for breakfast too. While we waited for the fog to clear the kids played in the forest next to our campground, swung on the hammock, road bikes and climbed on the rocks by our tent.

When the sun was nice and sunny we headed to the beach. It was mid 60s and very windy but that didn't stop the girls from enjoying the beach to the fullest.

Once we got to the light house the girls found fun in playing with rocks. They played with them for about an hour while James and I watched the big ships come in.

After our hike we went into town to check out Marsh's Free Museum and pick up some food for dinner.
After dinner we went back out to the beach to enjoy some more wind, sand and water. It was pretty chilly this time but that didn't stop the girls from getting wet. I fallowed them out into the water and noticed there was a pretty strong under current. Grace got caught in the waves going out and fell face first into the water. that ended our water play for the night. We went back to camp and I showered the girls. After a fun day the kiddos all passed out and James and I fallowed shortly.
Friday morning we woke up, ate breakfast and while waiting for the fog to clear packed up camp. James woke up extra early to get in a run before everyone else woke up. Gwenevere and Grace played with the camera and helped pack up.
We drove a few miles north til we got to the North Head Light House. (this was the light house that we could see from the beach we where camping at).

After walking around the light house and visiting the gift shop we drove up to Long Beach Washington to play in sand one last time and to eat lunch before heading home.
